Training and Education

Inclusive learning that delivers
real-world impact

Inclusion is often treated as an optional extra. In reality, inclusive design improves quality, engagement and outcomes for everyone.

For example, adding subtitles to video content doesn’t just support people with hearing impairments, it can increase views by up to 40% and completion rates by 80%.

When services, learning environments and programmes are designed inclusively from the outset, everyone benefits.

INSIDE EU

We design and deliver tailor-made inclusion training and learning programmes that help schools, colleges, universities, organisations and communities move from intention to action.

Our work supports clients to design equitable services, inclusive environments and accessible systems that improve engagement, quality and outcomes for everyone.

We work across education (early years to higher education), commerce and industry, justice and public services, health and therapeutic supports, and youth, community and social work.

Drawing on decades of experience in EU-funded projects and frontline practice, we translate research, evidence and lived experience into practical learning that strengthens everyday decision-making, policies and organisational culture.

Our Programmes

Community Inclusion
A Rights-Based Approach to Inclusion

INSIDE EU delivers community programmes and inclusion services designed to support people experiencing social exclusion, disadvantage and barriers to participation. Our work is grounded in a rights-based approach that focuses on creating shared, inclusive environments where people from different backgrounds, abilities and experiences can participate and achieve together.

Rather than separating people into narrow target groups, we apply universal design principles and evidence-based methodologies to create accessible learning and community experiences that work for everyone.

All services are designed and delivered by people with lived experience of disability, disadvantage and marginalisation, ensuring our work remains relevant, practical and community-led.

The 4E Roadmap to Inclusion

Our community programmes are structured around the 4E Roadmap:

Eudaimonia (Wellbeing)
Empowerment
Education
Employment & Entrepreneurship

The 4E Roadmap recognises that people experiencing exclusion often face multiple interconnected barriers to participation, wellbeing, education and employment. Different individuals may require support at different stages of this journey towards greater inclusion, independence and participation in society.

This framework underpins all INSIDE EU community programmes and inclusion methodologies.

Our Community Programmes

INSIDE EU has designed, piloted and delivered a range of community-focused programmes that now form the foundation of our inclusion service model.

EmployABLE (2018)

An employability, empowerment and soft skills development programme supporting people with disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds to build confidence, communication skills and pathways towards employment and participation.

EVA-FEM (2019)

A residential empowerment programme supporting individuals affected by forced migration, violence, trafficking, addiction, trauma and severe social exclusion. The programme focuses on wellbeing, resilience, peer support and rebuilding confidence and autonomy.

Financialit4Women (2019)

A financial literacy and resilience programme supporting women who are not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), alongside other marginalised groups, to build financial confidence, independence and employability skills.

BOOST (2022)

A four-week wellbeing literacy programme supporting children and adults with disabilities, particularly intellectual disabilities, to develop long-term wellbeing management and self-regulation strategies across physical, emotional, social, nutritional, sleep and environmental wellbeing domains.

Houses4Autism (2025)

A VR-supported independent living and skills development programme piloted with autistic adults and adults with disabilities, focused on daily living skills, resilience, social participation and autonomy. These programmes were delivered in areas experiencing higher levels of deprivation and exclusion, including Longford, Tralee and disadvantaged communities in Dublin.

Measurable Community Impact

All INSIDE EU programmes are piloted and evaluated within real community settings, with measurable outcomes across wellbeing, empowerment, education and employability.

BOOST Outcomes

BOOST was piloted with 250 children and adults with intellectual and other disabilities. Across the participant group:

  • Problem-solving and concentration improved by 44%

  • General happiness improved by 38.46%

  • Exercise and sleep outcomes improved by 33%

EVA-FEM Outcomes

Participants reported increased confidence, re-engagement with education and employment, and the development of social enterprise initiatives addressing issues experienced within their own communities.

Evaluation using the Warwick Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS) demonstrated a reduction in negative wellbeing indicators from 36% to 0% two years after programme participation.

Financialit4Women Outcomes

A pilot involving 30 participants in Tralee found that 96% of participants reported increased confidence in managing finances independently.

Houses4Autism Outcomes

In a recent pilot, all participants reported increased confidence in independent living and coping skills following participation.

EmployABLE Outcomes

Participant surveys showed:

  • 100% gained a better understanding of entrepreneurship

  • 81% felt capable of establishing their own business or social enterprise initiative

Training in Action

Our programmes combine evidence, research and lived experience with practical, hands-on activities, including:
– Simulated classroom or workplace scenarios to practice inclusive strategies
– Group exercises that build confidence and collaboration
– Co-creation projects where participants design real solutions for their settings
– Digital tools and simulations for experiential learning
– Reflection sessions to embed learning into everyday practice

These activities prepare participants to apply inclusive strategies immediately, creating measurable impact in classrooms, organisations and communities.
